Behind the Scenes of Worlds on Edge

In Worlds on Edge, the heat gets turned up, and I dive deeper into the characters’ struggles, both personal and galactic. Craze and his friends want to restore hope to the galaxy and a friend in crisis, but things keep spiraling. The main issue is Pardeep Station is under attack, and they can’t get there to help. The Lepper, the starway that connects the planetary systems, has locked out Pardeep Station, keeping Craze and his friends from reaching their home.
Plus, the Backworlds face new threats from what was discovered beyond the Backworlds. This sets up a dire need for help, and Craze realizes he needs his home back. When you’re up against a formidable enemy, you have to have something worth fighting for. Something to stand for. Something that won’t let you give up.
Book 5 also explores the increasing tension in Craze’s relationship with his family. It’s getting worse, and the divide seems impossible to bridge. Rainly, always a wildcard, has gone off to find her fate, which leads us to a storyline from Earth.
I had a lot of fun with Earth in this book. What happened to our planet and people? Coming up with the backstory was one of my favorite parts of writing Worlds on Edge, and it opened up more layers of history and lore. This book has a lot of moving pieces, showing how the fight for survival is as much about the connections we have as it is about defeating the external forces that threaten us.
